1930/40’s Comical Carlton Ware Ashtray

R365.00

In stock

This lovely, early, comical ashtray was made by ‘Carlton Ware’ in England during the 1930/40’s. It’s decorated inside with a painted scene of a young man in a suit, wearing a top hat and below a quote that reads ‘Shakespeare’s dead, Nelson’s dead, and I’m not feeling too good myself’ (a humorous quip often used to express that one is feeling unwell). The ashtray measures 9cm in diameter with a height of 2,5cm.
