Amazing Japanese ‘Ginbari’ ‘Akasuke’ Cloisonne Vase
This exquisite Japanese ‘Akasuke’ (pigeon blood red) ‘Ginbari' cloisonne vase, from the early 1900’s, is in mint condition. ‘Ginbari’ is a Japanese technique that uses silver foil in relief, under the enamel. This beautiful, red enamelled, silver foiled vase features storks amongst tall Iris flowers, with birds flying above the Irises and has a silvered metal rim and base. It stands 17cm high, with a width of 10cm (at its widest), a base diameter of 6.7cm and weighs 540g.
