Antique Mother-of-Pearl & Silver-Plate Dessert or Fruit Set (Cased)

This lovely, great quality, silver-plate and mother of pearl fruit or dessert set from the late 1800’s, early 1900’s, consists of six knives and six forks and are presented in their original fitted solid oak case lined with maroon satin and velvet. The knives and forks all have lovely decorative ferules, with the knife blades being beautifully engraved and carrying the makers stamp ‘A & DS with an hour-glass’, for silversmiths ‘Charles James Allen & Sidney Darwin’ from Sheffield, England. The lid of the case still has the original retailers label for ‘F.C. HODSON Goldsmith & Silversmith, EXETER’ and both the oak case and cutlery are in great condition The case measures 24cm x 19cm x 4,5cm, with cutlery weighs 985g.
