Antique Walnut Burr Veneer and Brass Dome Top Box
This beautiful box, which would have originally been a tea caddy, probably dates from around the 1850’s. It is made from solid wood with a walnut burr veneer and is decorated with elaborately cut and engraved brass mounts and decorations, with 2 small ivory panels on the front and top. It is in good condition considering its age. There are some age related cracks with some minor veneer chips in places and a small piece of ivory missing from the top. Inside as per photographs. There is no key. It measures 22.6cm in length, 14cm in width and 15cm in height.
