Antique WW1 ‘Verners Pattern VIII’ Compass (J.B. Ruby)
This Verner’s Pattern British Army Officers compass from the 1st World War has been personalized, probably with the original soldier’s name, ‘J.B. RUBY’ on the bottom edge. On the front it is stamped ‘VERNERS PATTERN’ and ‘VIII’ and on the back it bears the British Army broad arrow marking and the ‘NO. 87401’, the letters ‘B-L’ and the date ‘1917.’ It is in great condition for its age and seems to be working perfectly.
