Fabulous Signed Vintage Silver & Enamel Brooch (E. Soupal)

This fabulous, vintage, hand-painted and enamelled, sterling silver brooch is in excellent condition and is signed on the back by the artist ‘E. Soupal’. It features the most amazing, enamelled and hand painted portrait of a young woman, wearing a light blue hair piece and dress against a maroon background, the detail of which can only be appreciated under a magnifying glass. The portrait is set in a beautiful, oval sterling silver frame set with numerous marcasite stones and a lovely ornate ‘cut-out’ detail. This stunning piece is possibly French and was probably made around the 1920/30’s. It measures 5,5cm x 4,7cm and weighs 16,5g. There’s only a tiny factory mark on the back that I can’t decipher, but it has been tested by my jeweller as sterling silver.
