Fabulous Victorian Walnut Jewellery Box/Case

This fabulous, super quality, late Victorian walnut veneer jewellery box or case is exceptionally well made and is fitted with a good quality lock and comes with its original key. It features a thick bevelled glass drop front door, which is released when the top lid is unlocked and lifted. This exposes, two small pull-out draws with lovely ornate brass handles. The domed top lid has an inset brass carrying handle, and when opened reveals a fitted tray with various compartments. The interior of the jewellery box fitted tray, the inside of lid and draws are all lined with the original green silk and felt, and due to age, wear and tear, the silk and felt is worn and fraying in places and would look amazing with some TLC. Structurally the case is sound and locks well, and other than some minor damage to the walnut veneer on the lid, and wear and tear to the interior, it’s in great condition. The case measures 22cm x 15,5cm, stands 18cm high and weighs 1,5kg.
