Fine Victorian Silver-Plated Basket

This superb quality, large Victorian silver-plated basket with swing handle, is lovely and solid, with a good weight, beautifully made and in excellent condition. It is round in shape, with a scalloped, applied cast scroll and leaf border with super detail, and is fitted with a matching, detailed and pierced swing handle. The basket rests on four lovely, cast scroll feet with a leaf detail. There are no factory marks to be found, and in my opinion, this is a very early ‘Sheffield Plate’ on brass basket, which is in superb condition considering its age. The basket has a diameter of 32cm, stands 9cm high (26cm with handle up), and weighs 1570g.
