German – ‘Silesian Eagle – With Swords’ Medal (2nd Class)

This early, original, very good quality German Silesian Eagle ‘FUR SCHLESIEN’ medal (2^nd Class) with swords, and its original yellow and white ribbon is in excellent condition. It’s a silvered, white metal medal with lovely black enamelling, and it appears to be constructed from three pieces as it has five rivets on the back. The medal or German Freikorps award was awarded to troops fighting in the Silesian Uprisings of 1919 -1921, by the Friekorps Oberland, and was one of only two of these awards that were permitted to be worn on their uniform during the Third Reich era.
