Large Antique Pair of Cloisonne Hat/Wig Stands or Vases
This impressive, large, rare pair of antique Chinese cloisonne hat or wig stands/vases from the mid to late 1800’s, are beautifully decorated with fabulous cloisonne work, featuring a colourful display of swirling vines with lotus flowers and acanthus leaves. The pair are tall, heavy cylindrical shaped stands with quatrefoil cut-outs, to allow fragrant herbs to scent the hats, were used during the Quing dynasty to display their elaborate hats. These stands are rare and seldom seen on the market, especially a matching pair of cloisonne ones. They are both beautifully made and in excellent condition and stand 31cm high with a base and top diameter of 11,5cm and together weigh 2,33kg.
