Large Sterling Silver ‘Clarte Byzantine’ Greek Orthodox Icon

This lovely, large, religious ‘Clarte Byzantine’ Greek Icon has a wide and impressive sterling silver repousse border, decorated with bunches of grapes, vines and leaves, all in relief with wonderful detail and framed in a dark wood. It features a very colourful and traditional ‘Nativity’ scene, an exact replica of a Byzantine hagiography icon with amazing detail, featuring the Virgin Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. The icon is in excellent condition with its original seal/certificate stuck on the back and is stamped on the front silver border ‘925’ (sterling silver, 925/1000). The frame measures 35,5cm x 29cm x 2,3cm and weighs 1,53kg.
