‘Q.S.A. (ROL, TVL) & Natal 1906 Rebellion’ to ‘F. Worland’ (Natal R. Rifles & Natal R. Regt)

This original, scarce pair of full-size silver medals were issued to ‘F. Worland’, who first served in the Boer War as a private, in the ‘Natal Royal Rifles’ (a small unit of 150 men), where he earned the two bars, the ‘Relief of Ladysmith’ and ‘Transvaal’. He then took part in the ‘Natal Bambatha Rebellion’ in 1906, serving with the ‘Natal Royal Regiment’ (a small unit of 258 men), as a Drummer, earning the ‘1906 clasp’. Both medals have been confirmed on the medal rolls but have otherwise been un-researched. They are nicely tarnished, with their original ribbons, and in excellent condition (1906 ribbon is shorter).

The wording on the medals is:

1. QSA Medal – ‘207 PTE F. WORLAND. NATAL R.R.’
2. NATAL 1906 Medal – ‘DRMR: F. WORLAND. NATAL ROYAL REGT.’
