Rare Georgian Solid Silver Sugar Caster (1728)

This fabulous, rare, heavy, solid silver antique (George I) sugar caster from the early 1700’s has a lovely octagonal shape with a stepped pedestal base and a beautifully hand-pierced pull-off lid. It was made in London in 1728 and is stamped ‘EP’ on the base, possibly for ‘Edward Pocock’, an early 18^th century silversmith. This impressive and very early sugar caster is in amazing condition and a rare piece considering it’s nearly three hundred years old. It stands 15,5cm high, has a diameter of 5,5cm at its widest and weighs 260g.
