Rare – ‘Oranje Vrystaat Staats Artillerie’ Cap Badge (Prior to 1900)

This lovely, and I believe original, rare brass cap badge was worn prior to 1900 by the ‘Oranje Vrystaat Staats Artillerie’ (Artillery Corps of the Orange Free State), which was formed in 1880. There are two very similar badges in ‘Owens’ book, 2060 and 2061, I believe this to be ‘2060’. The badge is in excellent condition with both lugs intact. It measures 3,8cm x 2,8cm.
