This rare, large, heavy, very early French, bronze ‘Sir John Pope Hennessy (K.C.M.G.) Governor of Mauritius 1888’ Medallion by ‘Louis-Oscar Roty’ is in good condition with nice detail, and a lovely, aged patina. It has a diameter of 68mm, a thickness of 4mm and weighs 121,6g.

Note: The medal was a commemorative issue in 1890, as a sign of thankful from the people of the Island of Mauritius to governor Sir John Pope Hennessy.
