Silver George III (London 1789) Sugar Castor

The decoratively pierced and chased pattern pull off top is partially hallmarked. The castor sits on a weighted square base where there is a full set of hallmarks. The hallmarks are slightly worn but readable. It is dated for London 1789. One letter of a makers mark is visible (‘M’).

It weighs 128g (weighted base) and measures 135mm x 55mm.

Condition is age related, with possibly one or two early minor repairs to the corners of the square base. There is also an ‘R’ monogram on the shoulder of the castor.
