Small Victorian Silver Heart Box (1895)

This lovely, small, Victorian, heart shaped solid silver box is beautifully decorated with repousse flowers with a clear cartouche on the hinged lid. It’s hard to believe it was made 128 years ago, in 1895 in Birmingham, England by silversmiths ‘Henry Matthews’ (HM). This lovely silver box is in excellent condition with a snug fitting lid and clear hallmarks on the base and would make an ideal ring box for a special occasion, or a trinket box for the dressing table. The box measures 4,5cm x 4cm, stands 2,5cm high and weighs 22,4g.
