Victorian Silver Calling Card Case (George Unite – 1875)

This wonderful, very early, sterling silver calling card case has an attractive shape with numerous, beautifully engraved patterns on both sides with a round cartouche on the front engraved with initials. The case was made in 1875 in Birmingham, England by the renowned silversmith ‘George Unite’ (GU). This lovely piece is in superb condition with clear hallmarks, a good hinge and a snug fitting lid. It measures 8cm x 5cm x 0.7cm and weighs 33g.
