Wonderful Pair of Victorian Silver Dessert or Berry Spoons (1896)
This magnificent pair of exceptional quality, solid silver, heavy dessert or fruit serving spoons have beautiful embossed and hand-chased floral bowls with blank, shield shaped cartouches in the centre. The lovely cast handles are very decorative with ornate tops featuring a cherub in the middle. The spoons are English hallmarked on the back of the bowls and were made in London in 1896 by silversmiths ‘James Wakely & Frank Clarke Wheeler’ (J.W.F.C.W). They are in pristine condition and measure 20,5cm in length, with an oval bowl of 7,2cm x 5,1cm and together weigh 147g.
