Sold!

What’s amazing and rare about this frame, is the amount of work that would have gone into making it, and the fact that it was made by a Greek volunteer. The frame features the original photograph of a soldier in uniform, who was probably a Greek volunteer who served during the Boer war and became a POW (I’ve read there were several Greeks who volunteered to serve on both sides). The frame also features the words ‘Souvenir 1902’ in Greek, as well as the Greek flags in the top right-hand corner, and a bunch of flowers and wheat tied with orange ribbon along the right-hand side. Around the inside of the wooden frame, there’s a very wide decorative border, with flower motifs in the corners. The photo frame is in great condition for its age, and the original photograph is nice and clear. The frame measures 32,5cm x 26,2cm x 3,2cm and weighs
