Antique Acorn Thimble Holder & Thimble

This lovely, antique thimble case has been beautifully carved in the form of an acorn with a screw-off lid and comes with an early, silver and steel lined ‘Dorcas’ thimble made by ‘Charles Horner’. The case has had an early repair across the lid, which is not obvious and doesn’t affect the opening and closing. The thimble is stamped on the side ‘CH’ ‘DORCAS’ & ‘5’ (Thimble Size) and stands 24mm high, has a base diameter of 18mm with a weight of 8,7g. The case measures 45mm x 35mm and with thimble weighs 28,7g.
