Antique Art Nouveau ‘Maiden on Seashell’ Centrepiece

This beautifully modelled, porcelain art nouveau centrepiece, features a lady standing on the edge of a large open seashell pond, with a jug in hand, collecting water from a spring, and incorporates a spill vase behind the spring. Her flowing dress and leaves have been hand painted in olive green colours with brushed gilding with various shades of brown. At first glance I would have sworn it was an early ‘Royal Dux’ piece, but there are no markings anywhere, and in my opinion, it is a genuine early piece from the 1920’s. Other than a small chip on the back, which is hardly noticeable, she is in excellent condition. The centrepiece stands 28cm high, with a width of 26cm a depth of 18cm and weighs 1445g.
