Antique Austrian Silver and ‘Guilloche Enamel’ Box

This outstanding box is of exceptional quality. It is made from heavy gauge silver and is profusely enamelled in purple and cream enamel, with a carved oval ivory cameo in the centre. Four tab corners of black enamel with carved stylized leaves enliven the top. The interior of the box is fully gilded.  The top, base, sides, back and front of the box are all in excellent condition, with slight wear to the base. The box is marked with Austrian hallmarks – C1910 and has a makers mark B.G. It measures 8.6cm in length, 6cm in width, 1.1.cm in height and weighs 142.3g.
