Antique Georgian Porcelain Teacup & Saucer
This lovely, very early, antique porcelain teacup and saucer is beautifully decorated in an oriental scene, with a blue underglaze transfer and then hand painted in various colours. The cup has the typical shaped handle of the Georgian period as well as the deep saucer without a ‘cup well’. The duo is mostly unmarked (not uncommon), except for a painted number on the saucer ‘202’ and possibly an artist’s mark under the cup. Both pieces are in wonderful condition, with the cup standing 5,7cm high, and a top diameter of 8,5cm, with the saucer having a diameter of 14,5cm and a height of 3,2cm.
