Antique Silver ‘Double’ Sovereign Case (1914)
This antique, sterling silver, English hallmarked ‘double’ sovereign case has a push button sprung lid, with two sprung inner coin compartments (for full & half Sovereigns) and is fitted with a swivel suspension ring. It was made in Birmingham in 1914 by silversmiths ‘Frank Banks’ (F.B), and measures 50mm x 35mm (44mm with loop), and weighs 28g. The case is plain with numerous small soft dents, otherwise it’s in good condition and functions perfectly.
