Awesome WMF Art Nouveau Centrepiece Bowl (C. 1905)

This large, very impressive, silver-plated and crystal Art Nouveau WMF ‘Jugendstil’ centrepiece is in excellent condition and was manufactured in Germany between 1900 and 1910 by the well-known WMF factory (Wurttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik). The large, oval, silver plated frame is beautifully decorated with drooping flowers, in relief and there is a large, decorative handle on each end with cut out, three-dimensional hanging flowers. Other than a very minor dent on the one side it is in mint condition and is stamped on the base with the early WMF ostrich mark. The original, lovely, shaped crystal insert is in perfect condition. These early, decorative pieces of WMF are highly sort after today and are prized by collectors around the world. It measures 44cm in length (handle to handle), with a width of 12cm, a height of 13.5cm and weighs 2130g.
