Beautiful Large Antique German ‘Cherub’ Centrepiece
This amazing, antique porcelain centrepiece/fruit bowl was manufactured in Plaue, Germany by the well-known ‘Von Schierholz’ porcelain factory in the late 1800’s. The large, oval bowl is supported by four beautifully hand painted cherubs and has pierced sides with gold trimmings. It is decorated with exquisitely painted garlands of flowers, in various colours, around the edge and hanging down in places with a pretty bunch of hand painted, colourful flowers in the centre. Other than a very small chip to the foot of one of the cherubs it is in excellent condition. It has the early ‘Von Schierholz’ blue mark, under glaze, on the base, which was used between 1865 and 1907. It measures 41cm x 25cm, stands 16cm high and weighs 2.23kg’s.
