This collectable vintage instrument is in excellent condition and comes with its original leather case. It is in good working order and all dials are fine including the reset feature. This anemometer was used to determine the volume of air entering and exiting mines. It was manufactured by Short and Mason of London.

Short and Mason was established in 1845 by Thomas Short and James Mason. They produced precision measuring instruments, including barometers, anemometers and compasses. They became leaders in the field of barograph design.

It would make a nice, unusual gift for a man working in the mining or industrial field. It measures 11.5cm in height, 10.8cm in width, 4cm in depth and weighs 470g without the leather case and 665g including the leather case.
