Cased Silver & Enamel ‘Arts & Crafts’ Teaspoons (W. Hutton & Sons – Kate Harris)
This rare and wonderful cased set of ‘Arts & Crafts/Art Nouveau’ sterling silver and enamelled teaspoons were made in 1903, in London by ‘William Hutton & Sons’ (WH&S), who were renowned for their quality ‘Arts & Crafts’ silverware, with this set of spoons being attributed to the very sort after art nouveau designer, ‘Kate Harris’ (1878-1949). These superb quality spoons have a wonderful organic shape with beautiful blue & green enamelling and come cased in their original, custom-made velvet lined box. The inner, silk lined lid is stamped by the original retailers in gold leaf, ‘THE PARISIAN DIAMOND & PEARL COMPANY’ ‘ELOFF ST. JOHANNESBURG’. This scarce set of spoons are in excellent condition with nice clear hallmarks and appear to have never been used. They each measure 11,3cm x 2,9cm and together weigh 125g. The case measures 20cm x 15cm.
