Danish Silver ‘Georg Jensen’ Sugar Bowl & Cream Jug

This rare, fabulous, antique, sterling sugar bowl with matching cream jug was manufactured by the well-known and sought after Danish silversmith ‘Georg Jensen’, in Copenhagen in the 1920’s. They have a lovely, rounded shape with a soft hand-hammered finish, with a short ebony handle on the creamer, and both rest on round attractive, stepped pedestal bases. This wonderful pair are in great condition with a nice weight and are clearly hallmarked on their bases with the oval ‘Georg Jensen’ stamp, the Danish ‘three towers’ mark, the design number ‘34’, the assay masters mark of ‘CFH’ for ‘Christian F. Heise’ (used between 1904 and 1932), and the ‘925.S’ purity stamp. There are also small English import marks on the sides of both pieces, for London 1923 along with a ‘GS’ stamp for the importers ‘George Stockwell & Co’. The jug measures 6cm at its widest, 11,5cm with handle and stands 7cm high, the sugar bowl measures 7,5cm in diameter, stands 5,2cm high and together they weigh 220g.
