Early ‘1965 Springbok Rugby’ Photograph (Nomis, Truter, Barnard)

This original, early photograph of three of South Africa’s rugby greats was taken in New Zealand in June 1965. It features Johannes Barnard, Jacobus Truter, and Syd Nomis posing for a photograph on the golf course during the New Zealand Tour. The words on the back read ‘There’s a game that has no kickbacks, Springboks relaxing on a golf course’, and ‘J.H BARNARD, J.T TRUTER, S.H NOMIS’ There’s also an official stamp on the back, ‘EVENING POST, WELLINGTON N.Z. JUN1965’. The photograph is in good condition, measures 19cm x 17,5cm, and comes with a small newspaper cutting on ‘Meet the Springboks’.
