Early ‘J.T. Jones’ Crown Staffordshire Bird Figure (Shrike)

This beautiful, early, bone china figure of a bird (Shrike) perched on a branch, is incredibly well painted with ‘life-like’ colours and detail. It was manufactured by the well-known ‘Crown Staffordshire’ factory in England and designed and modelled by ‘Jack T. Jones’ (born 1898), who joined the factory at the very young age of 13, where he spent 47 years, 30 as the art director. The base carries his signature, as well as the factory’s backstamp and the birds name and model number ‘Shrike 25’. This lovely bird appears to be in mint condition, and measures 15cm x 11cm, and stands 14,5cm high.
