Early ‘Wynken’ Nursery Rhyme Figure (Wade)

This charming, small, hand painted porcelain figure titled ‘WYNKEN’ is in excellent condition and was made in England by ‘WADE’ in the 1940/50’s. ‘Wynken’ was one of three characters portrayed in the early 1889 nursery rhyme ‘Wynken, Blynken, and Nod’ by American writer ‘Eugene Field’ who originally titled it the ‘Dutch Lullaby’. This cute figure stands 7,5cm high and has the factory’s backstamps, in green, on the base.
