Exquisite Vintage Solid Silver ‘Cherubs’ Photo Frame

This fabulous, large, ornate, great quality, solid silver vintage photo frame is beautifully detailed and embossed with numerous winged cherubs among garlands of flowers, all in high relief. It was manufactured in London in 1998 and carries a full set of English hallmarks in the bottom right-hand corner, including the ‘Britannia Standard’ mark, which tells us the silver has a purity of ‘958’, higher than sterling silver at ‘925’. There’s also a silversmith’s mark ‘G.M.G.’, that I couldn’t trace. The frame is easel backed, with a dark blue velvet, covering the back and stand, and it has been well looked after, as it’s in pristine condition. It stands 27cm high, with a width of 21,5cm and weighs 490g. The photo window from the front measures 12,8cm x 9,5cm.
