Impressive Antique Meat Dome Cover & Tray (Silver-Plate)

This large, elegant, fine quality silver-plated meat dome cover and matching tray from the early 1900’s is in wonderful condition, considering their age. This traditional large meat cover or cloche is oval in shape with a fluted body, topped with an ornately cast leafy acanthus handle and a scalloped channelled border with occasional embossed floral and leaf decoration. The large oval meat tray has the identical decoration around the sides and other than a few blade marks is in excellent condition. These fine quality meat domes are scarce, but its rare to find one with its matching tray and would make a lovely addition to the dinner table on special occasions. The dome measures 36cm x 26,5cm and stands 22cm high (with handle). The tray measures 42,5cm x 34,5cm with a depth of 3cm and together weigh 3,8kg.
