Large Amazing Solid Silver ‘Cherubs’ Photo Frame or Mirror

This fabulous, large, ornate, great quality, solid silver, vintage easel photo frame or mirror is beautifully detailed and embossed with an array of winged cherubs among garlands of flowers and leaves, all in high relief. The frame can either be used as a mirror or a photo frame, as it comes with a lovely, bevelled mirror insert, as well as a piece of glass and are interchangeable. It was manufactured in London in 1998 and carries a full set of English hallmarks in the bottom right-hand corner, including the ‘Britannia Standard’ mark, which tells us the silver has a purity of ‘958’, higher than sterling silver at ‘925’. There’s also a silversmith’s mark ‘G.M.G.’, that I couldn’t trace. The frame is easel backed, with a dark blue velvet covering the back and stand, and it has been well looked after, as it’s in pristine condition. It stands 38cm high, with a width of 32cm and weighs 1365g. The window from the front can take a large photograph measuring 24cm x 19cm and would make an ideal wedding gift.
