Large Early Green Wedgwood Jasperware Jug

Sold!

This impressive, large, 1960’s green jasperware jug is beautifully decorated with a white neo-classical design, all in relief, which features the scene, the ‘Sacrifice to Ceres’. Ceres was the roman goddess of Agriculture and Fertility. It also has a continuous entwined, circular, floral detailed band around the middle and top. The inside of the jug has been glazed to make it functional and protect it when used. The jug is in excellent condition, dates to 1962, and is impressed ‘MADE IN ENGLAND, WEDGWOOD, 62’ on the base. It has a height of 12,4cm, a handle to spout measurement of 10cm and weighs 465g.
