Large Vintage Cast Iron ‘Coachman’ Doorstop (Tony Weller)
This lovely, old, heavy cast iron doorstop, from the 1940’s, is in the form of the coachman ‘Tony Weller’, who was a fictional character in the first novel by Charles Dickens entitled ‘Pickwick Papers’. He stands on an Art Deco base and has a tarnished gold colour to it. It is stamped on the back ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ ‘Tony Weller’ and stands 37cm high, with a width of 19cm at its widest, a depth of 11.5cm and weighs 3470g. It is in excellent condition of its age and has a lot of character.
