Lovely Large Royal Doulton ‘Famous Ships, HMS Victory’ Dish (D5957)

This stunning, hand painted and relief molded large dish by Royal Doulton, depicts Lord Nelson’s flagship ‘The Victory’ at Trafalgar. This unusually shaped oval dish has a wavy stepped edge and is stamped on the base with the special series ware and Royal Doulton back stamps and pattern number ‘D5957’. The ‘Famous Ships’ series was introduced in 1938 and discontinued in 1958. The dish is in excellent condition, measures 29,8cm x 23,5cm, with a depth of 4,5cm and weighs 705g.
