This rare, original, antique, white metal double ended combination whistle is stamped on the side ‘THE METROPOLTAN, PATENT’ and ‘J. HUDSON & CO, 13 BARR ST, BIRMINGHAM’, which dates this whistle between 1889 and 1908. They were used by the early ‘combined police & fire departments’ and possibly the ‘Royal Navy’s Motor Torpedo Boat Service’. Other than some minor discoloration in places it’s in great condition, with a good weight and works well. It measures 10,5cm in length.
