Rare Gold Georgian Miniature Portrait Pendant/Locket (1839)

This amazing, very early, hand-painted, miniature Georgian portrait, is mounted in an oval 9ct rose-gold framed pendant with a hinged front and features a beautifully hand-painted miniature portrait of a gentleman in amazingly fine detail, that can only be appreciated under a magnifying glass, and has a hand-written date on the back for the 23^rd of August 1839. The case isn’t marked (which is common on these Georgian miniatures) but has been tested and confirmed as solid 9ct gold. This gold portrait pendant and miniature painting is in excellent condition and is a wonderful example of a Georgian piece. The pendant measures 42mm x 50mm (57mm with jump ring) and weighs 14,3g.
