Rare Large R/Doulton ‘Guy Fawkes’ Jug (Ltd Edition of 600)

This wonderful, large, rare, early Royal Doulton ‘Guy Fawkes’ Jug (numbered 541), was designed by ‘Henry Fenton’ and produced in a limited edition of only 600, in 1934. It features a colourful scene, all in relief, of Sir Thomas Knyvet at the base of the stairs, with sword in hand surprising Guy Fawkes by the barrels of gunpowder. This lovely piece is in excellent condition with the factory backstamps and depicts a sketch of ‘Guy Fawkes’ on the base, with the date ‘November 5th, 1605’ along with a short note from ‘James. Rex.’ the King of Scotland at the time. The jug measure’s 21cm handle to spout, stands 19,5cm high and weighs 950g.
