Rare Natal 1906 Medal – ‘POM POM SECT. – N.F. ART’ (GUNR. M.H. KILMISTER)

This original, rare unit, full size ‘Natal Bambatha Rebellion’ medal, with the 1906 clasp was issued to ‘Gunner M.H. Kilmister’, one of only 24, that were issued to the ‘Pom Pom Section of the Natal Field Artillery’. This medal is un-researched but confirmed on the roll and comes with its original ribbon, is nicely tarnished and in excellent condition.

Note: In 1905 a Pom Pom section of two horse-drawn guns and two ammunition wagons, was raised in Durban and attached to the 1^st N.F.A. Brigade. This very small unit of 24, took a very useful part in the Zulu Rebellion operations and was disbanded in 1907.
