Rare – Victorian ‘Pig Nose Whistle’ (AULD – GLASGOW)

Sold!

This rare, very early, heavy brass ‘pea - pig nose’ whistle was made in Glasgow, Scotland by ‘Samuel Auld & Co.’ around the 1880/90’s. These whistles were used by constabulary, fire departments and railways during this period, and at the time were referred to as ‘Police & Railway Calls’ and not whistles. The whistle is in excellent condition for its age, works well and still has its original ‘pea’ inside. It is stamped ‘S. Auld MAKER, GLASGOW’ and measures 6,4cm in length.
