Royal Doulton ‘Jock of The Bushveld’ Vase

This lovely, large Royal Doulton vase from the early 1900’s is decorated in the sought-after series ‘Jock of the Bushveld’, which was produced between 1934 and 1942. The series features scenes adapted from ‘E. Calwell’s’ drawings for ‘Sir Percy FitzPatrick’s’ classic 1907 South African book. This scene depicts two men and Percy around a campfire, with his Staffie ‘Jock’ holding a large bone in his mouth, along with a wide decorative band of various wildlife in their natural habitat around the top. The vase is in excellent condition with a lovely glaze and measures 11cm at its widest, stands 19,5cm high and weighs 485g.
