Scarce ‘Edinburgh’ Crystal Thistle-Cut Claret Jug Decanter

This fabulous, large, superb quality, cut-crystal claret jug decanter is an early, original, signed ‘Edinburgh’ decanter made in Scotland around the 1950/60’s. It has a wonderful thistle shape, with a matching stopper, both beautifully hand-cut and finely etched with thistles and leaves and sits on a ‘star-cut’ round base. This scarce claret jug is in mint condition and appears to have hardly been used, it has a nice weight and is stamped with the early, oval acid etched mark on the base – signed ‘Edinburgh’ with ‘MADE IN SCOTLAND’ around the signature. These original, early signed ‘Thistle-Cut’ pieces are seldom seen and fetch very high prices when they come on the market. The claret jug stands 31cm high (23,5cm without stopper), with a base diameter of 11cm and weighs 1,9kg.
