€597.00
This scarce, fabulous, solid silver bowl or dish from the 1920’s, decorated in the popular ‘Rope/Perle’ pattern, was made and designed by the well-known and sought after Danish silversmith ‘Georg Jensen’, in Copenhagen. It has a good weight and an attractive shape with a soft hand-hammered finish and a turned rounded rim with the ‘rope’ pattern trim. This fine quality piece is in superb condition and is clearly hallmarked on the base with the early crowned ‘Georg Jensen’ stamp (used between 1925 and 1932) along with ‘STERLING DENMARK’, the design number ‘290’ and a circled ‘GI 925 S’ stamp. There are also small English import marks on the side for London 1929, along with a ‘GS’ stamp for the importers ‘George Stockwell & Co’. The bowl stands 5cm high with a top diameter of 12cm and weighs 144,3g.
