Silver ‘George III’ Vinaigrette (1814 – John Lawrence)

This lovely, small, silver, ‘George III’ vinaigrette was made in Birmingham, England in 1814 by silversmiths ‘John Lawrence & Co’ (JL). It’s rectangular in shape with rounded corners and is engraved with floral decoration on both sides. The hinged grill has a pretty, floral pierced and engraved pattern with original gilding. It’s in great condition with minor wear, has good hinges, closes securely and still retains the small piece of sponge inside. The vinaigrette measures 25mm x 20mm x 10mm.
