Sterling Silver ‘Patrick Mavros’ Warthog Family

This fabulous, early, solid silver sculpture by the well-known Zimbabwean artist ‘Patrick Mavros’ features a small family of Warthog, individually mounted on a dark wood base, lined with green felt. The large parent in the front has amazing detail and is followed by her three babies, all running in a line, with their tails straight up in the air, as they do when alarmed. Although I can’t see a ‘Patrick Mavros’ signature under the warthogs, there are marks under the large one which I can’t decipher, and a photograph was sent to their company, who confirmed it was one of his. I also believe this is one of his early sculptures as its slightly different to his latest ones. This lovely piece is in excellent condition with a nice weight as the warthogs are heavy from being cast in solid sterling silver.
