Striking Art Deco Silver, Carnelian & Marcasite Necklace

This wonderful, art deco, solid silver, marcasite necklace has been exceptionally well made and is set with five beautifully cut natural carnelian gemstones. The portion of the necklace with carnelian stones is shaped like a bird wing and hinged twice on each side of the large stone, making it take the shape of the lower neck. This impressive necklace is in excellent condition and was probably made in Germany or Austria around the 1920/30’s. There’s an impressed hallmark or stamp on the back that I can’t decipher and a stamped ‘933’ or ‘833’ for purity of silver. The necklace measures roughly 45cm in length, with the carnelian portion measuring 9cm across, with a drop of 5cm and it weighs 26g.
